History

The roots of VDB Groupe’s vertically integrated investment and management platform were first planted in 1983 and its principals’ investment performance over this five-decade long period has been enviable and has successfully navigated through numerous regional, national and global economic cycles. During this period, over 50,000 multifamily residential and condominium units have been owned and managed.  Over the past 40+ years, VDB’s principals have focused on acquiring and managing institutional quality multifamily property assets in the core, core-plus, value-add and workforce housing sector as well as selectively developing multifamily properties. Following acquisition and delivery of a new property asset, VDB’s Property and Asset Management Team provides focused on-site property management and asset management to enable optimization of both operating performance and the investment returns of each property asset.


VDB’s historic investment and operating strategy remains uncompromised: identification of institutional-quality property assets that are currently or have historically been well-occupied and are well-performing in well-located major urban and/or major MSA’s as well as those assets located in strong economically-performing secondary and tertiary markets that have continually demonstrated sound economic fundamentals with consistent annual performance. Many times, this investment strategy has been more of an art influenced by and reinforced with 40+ years of experience than driven solely by the numbers.
